There's only one place to start County Watch this week and that's a fantastic captain's innings by Gary Wilson whose unbeaten 160 took Surrey to a convincing 10 wickets win over Leicestershire.

Gary hit 21 fours and 2 sixes in a superb knock, sharing a stand of 192 with Chris Tremlett (90) after Surrey had been in a difficult position.

Niall O'Brien hit 33 and 13, but Surrey prevailed by 10 wickets, continuing the excellent start Wilson has made at the helm.

William Porterfield made 13 and 43, while Boyd Rankin took 2 for 79  as Warwickshire slumped to an innings loss to Yorkshire.

George Dockrell was also on the losing side for Somerset, taking 3 for 85 and 0 for 18, although he did bat well to make 26.

Notts eventually won by 7 wickets.

Ed Joyce was another Irish loser, as the Dubliner made just 2 and 23 as Durham recorded a thumping 309 run win.

There was better news for Kevin O'Brien who top scored with an unbeaten 40 from just 22 balls (3 fours, 2 sixes), while Gary Wilson hit 18 as Surrey beat Glamorgan by 17 runs in the T20 Blast.

Graeme McCarter came down to earth after his heroics earlier in the month - he conceded 49 runs in his four overs as Gloucestershire lost by just 2 runs against Hampshire.

There was no Paul Stirling or Andrew Balbirnie (finger injuries) as Middlesex lost to Essex - Eoin Morgan top scoring with 69 as they were beaten by Essex.

William Porterfield made 14 as Birmingham Bears slumped to a heavy 8 wicket loss against Worcestershire.

Let's hope for better fortunes for the Irish across the pond next week.
