Young Brigade teenager Hameed has made a dramatic impact with the Beechgrove club despite only taking up the sport recently on his arrival to the country.

The all-rounder ony took up the game after conversations with Brigade legend and former Ireland A international Johnny Thompson.

JT has helped coach the enthusiastic youngster and after a rocky start where he failed to score in his first few games, he came good with a match winning knock against Maghera.

He scored an unbeaten 101 for Brigade at Maghera, hitting 9 sixes and 5 fours from just 65 balls to help his side to 201.

Hameed then turned his attention to the ball, where in a devastating spell of quick bowling blew away the top order to take five wickets and seal a 25-run win.

A great result for the youngster and his club. Hopefully he will continue to go from strength to strength.
