DONEMANA UP FOR THE CUP

It’s another big weekend for Donemana Seconds who have an Ulster Plate final at home to Muckamore.

The competition has been a kind one over the years for the club, having won it a record three times, including a win over Sunday’s opponents.

Donemana have already one piece of silverware in the cabinet having been victorious in the League One final recently and skipper Jamie Huey is relishing the opportunity to put another trophy in the cabinet.

“We are all really looking forward to another final and having Muckamore down to The Holm again,” said Huey.

“We’ll be right up for this one, as the Ulster Plate is a great competition with the standard being that bit higher with the unstarred seniors being able to play. Hopefully we can perform the way we have been recently and come out on top.”

Donemana are at full strength for the clash and with the Dougherty brothers, McBrines and the skipper himself in good form then they will begin as favourites, especially on their own patch. However, they will be wise to be wary of their NCU opponents, whose opener Ewan Wilson has scored 174 and 143 not out in their previous round wins against North West sides.
