ARLENE KELLY grabbed an international best of 5-12 as Ireland romped to a 10-wicket victory over the Netherlands in the first of a three-match T20 series.

Only two of the home batters managed double figures and none could cope with Kelly whose four overs included a maiden, while debutante Freya Sargent also bowled a full quota, finishing with a tidy 0-17.

A total of 92-9 did not stretch Ireland openers Gaby Lewis and Amy Hunter who knocked off the runs in 13.1 overs, Hunter managing two sixes in her 49 not out and Lewis hitting the winning boundary, her ninth, as she was unbeaten on 43.

Meanwhile, Lorcan Tucker and George Dockrell warmed up for Friday’s first T20 against India with a record-breaking boundary blitz in Milverton to help Leinster Lighting beat the North-West Warriors by 244 runs in the Rario InterPro Cup.

Tucker blazed 15 fours and six maximums in his 133 from 93 balls, and Dockrell smashed eight sixes in an equally destructive 88 from 49 balls as Lightning racked up 425-7 - the highest total in IP50 history.
