Clontarf all-rounder Freya Sargent has been named in the Ireland Women's squad for their three-match T20I series against The Netherlands later this month.

The teenager is the one new name in Ed Joyce's squad for the games at VRA on August 14th, 16th and 17th.

“Freya Sargent has impressed at youth international and Super Series level and has earned a call-up," said Head Coach Joyce.

"She also performed well at the Under-19s World Cup at the start of the year, so I have no doubt she’ll be well positioned for a step up in standard.”

Eimear Richardson is once again absent after not featuring against Australia.

Ireland will be hoping for their first competitive win of 2023, although they have won warm-up games against Bangladesh and Australia.
