Christine Coulter-Reilly carried her good domestic form into the first game of the Women's Future Series to help Leinster to a 40-run win over the NCU at Bready.

CCR top-scored with 82 ( 3 fours, two 6's) as she dominated their total of 213 for 9.

The NCU let them off the hook after reducing them to 163 for 7, conceding 54 extras,47 of which came in wides and no-balls.

That was to prove crucial in the final analysis as the Belfast side finished on 173, despite Aoife Fisher's 80. There were three wickets apiece for Sophie Stewart and Lucy Barry.

In the other game, Alana Dalzell was the star of the show as the Warriors beat Ireland U17s by 35 runs.

Bready's Irish international top-scored with 84 before being run out off the penultimate ball as her side made 229 for 8 - runs too for Sarah Black (42) and Zara Craig (27).

Extras were to prove crucial also with the Irish teenagers conceding 45 wides and no-balls.

That was to prove fatal as they came close in the chase. When Julie McNally (55) and Freya Sargent (46) were in full flow as they added 90 in just 11 overs, Ireland were well on top at 142 for 3 in the 24th over.

However, both fell to Tanisha Hussain (3-43) and with Dalzell picking up three wickets too, the teenagers were bowled out for 194 in the 39th.

The series continues on Tuesday at Bready (10:45am).
