Fox Lodge are still in third place after a convincing win over Bonds Glen. Their hopes of a double are still very much alive but this weekend sees their toughest examination yet with two clashes against Newbuildings in the league and semi-finals of the cup.

Johnny Robinson has been instrumental in their success thus far, with over 300 runs and 11 wickets. He also donned the wicket-keeping gloves when injury meant he couldn’t bowl in the first part of the season.

“We had a good win at the weekend against Bonds Glen,” said Robinson. “We thought we were probably 20-30 runs short of a par score but the bowling and fielding was the best it’s been this season to claim the maximum points.

“Personally it’s great to be back bowling again. I’m still not 100% but much better than it was at the start of the season.

“I’m really looking forward to the weekend as it’s a real make or break for any hopes of silverware. If we can come away with two wins against Newbuildings we will be sitting nicely in the league and looking forward to another Senior Cup Final.

“We are just going to keep doing what we have been doing, taking one game at a time and doing the basics. We have a good squad of players who have been working hard in training. Gayan (Maneeshan) has been great on this front and has been really pushing the guys hard during the week.”
