Sion Mills got back into winning mode as they beat Ardmore in a high scoring contest at The Holm. Sion got off to a great start with the score sitting at 100 for 1 after 18 overs owing to some sumptuous batting by the in-form Rian McKelvey and the experienced Barry Scott. McKelvey was in great nick from the outset hitting 6 fours and 4 sixes on his way to a energy sapping 75 in the middle, backed competently by Scott with some hefty blows of his own reaching 39.

The total was enhanced further by Darren Moan (27), Jordie Stewart (24) and Lee Finlay (22) with Sion finishing their 40 overs on a very competitive 242 for 9.

Sion quickly reduced the visitors to 47 for 4, but Ciaran Curley blasted his way to 52 off just 41 balls, briefly giving the Ardmore men some glimmer of hope until being beautifully stumped by Sion keeper Simon Galloway off the bowling of Lee Finlay (pictured above) who would go on to take the bowling plaudits with a well deserved 5 wickets for 34 runs.

The departure of Curley told on the away team and missing a couple of players they were eventually bowled out for 143 after 27.2 overs. A superb 99 run victory for Sion and a great response after last week, amassing maximum points taking them back to the top of the table.
