Sion experienced their first league defeat of the season on Saturday in a day to forget for the Mill men away to The Nedd. Bowling first Sion had the home team on the ropes at 74 for 6 but a combination of poor Sion fielding and a fair slice of luck, saw the hosts recover to 161.

That aside it wasn’t a target that would have rattled Sion given their performances in previous weeks however it wasn’t to be this time around. An uncharacteristic failure with the bat meant a resounding defeat of 101 runs, being bowled out of a meagre 60 runs.

They have a chance to bounce back on Saturday when they host league leaders Ardmore who beat defending champions Bready despite a century from Dean McCloskey.
