Irish internationals Leah Paul, Orla Prendergast and Arlene Kelly starred as the Dragons shocked defending champions Scorchers in a T20 match at Merrion.

Defending 115, Prendergast and Kelly each claimed three wickets, while Paul picked up a brace as the Scorchers were bowled out for 92.

Player of the Match Prendergast dismissed Zimbabwean Mary-Anne Musonda with the first ball of the chase, while Kate McEvoy claimed the prize scalp of Gaby Lewis, trapped lbw playing across the line for a top score of 21.

Earlier, Leah Paul's 33 (3 fours) was crucial to the Dragons 115 - three wickets for Niamh McNulty (3-22) and two apiece for Sophie MacMahon and Aimee Maguire.
