BURNDENNETT

Captain: Conan Pollock
No overseas professional
Players Out: Mark Snodgrass and Aidan Logue
Players in: Derek Curry and Gopinath Siva

Burndennett will be looking to build on their performances of recent years as the new look North West season gets under way at the end of the month.

Conan Pollock is at the helm and they have new additions in Derek Curry who has joined from the Bee Gees and Indian born Gopinath Silva.

Mark Snodgrass has moved in the other direction to Bonds Glen, while Aidan Logue has rejoined Fox Lodge.

"We decided not to go with a pro this year as we as a team and club are glad it's resorting back to Premier/Championship next year," said captain Conan Pollock.

"Two guys have left and we have two in with Derek Curry coming in from Bonds Glen who will strengthen our bowling as we have lost two bowlers. Gopi is an Indian student who is here, and he is a batsman.

"The boys are just going to enjoy their cricket this year as we will be going in as one of the big underdog teams with no overseas and hopefully they play with no fear or pressure.

"We will play hard each game and see what happens and if we can cause a few upsets along the way.

The main thing for us is to try get the enjoyment and commitment back into our cricket and get the boys confidence back as it's been a hard few seasons for ourselves. That said we are regrouping and have been in winter nets and still trying a few options player wise.

"We will be ready to go for the first game up against Coleraine at home and give this season a good crack and whatever happens happens."

That game against Coleraine is at Burndennett on Saturday April 29th.
