Ireland lost a last ball contest by one run against Rwanda in their final warm-up match ahead of their tournament opener on Sunday versus the West Indies.
The result is certainly a worrying one against an Associate, but the Irish have only themselves to blame, having yet again conceded too many bowling extras.
The Irish gave away 18 wides, allowing Rwanda to recover from 48 for 5 to post 103 for 8 - two wickets apiece for Niamh MacNulty and Aimee Maguire, while there was one each for Zara Craig, Freya Sergant and Ellie McGee.
The reply looked to be on course to clinch a win with top-scorer Amy Hunter making 41 (3 fours) as she shared stands of 44 for the first wickets with Siuin Woods (16) and 46 for the second with Jane Loughran (27).
The Irish though wobbled as the finishing line approached as Hunter and Annabel Squires fell in successive balls.
Nine were needed off the final over, and with Georgina Dempsey and Loughran getting seven off the first five balls, it left two required for the win.
However, Loughran was run out attempting the run that would have tied the scores and forcing a super over.
Much to ponder then for Glenn Querl's side ahead of Sunday's clash.
