We start our reviews of the Leinster clubs with a look at Clontarf. The Castle Avenue side just missed out on silverware losing the League Cup and T20 finals, but it took a final day win to avoid relegation from the Premiership.

It should be noted that these stats include the Irish Cup, as well as displays in the various Leinster senior competitions. This ensures consistency across all the reviews on the sites.

The batting was led by David Delany who enjoyed a dream campaign which will see him take two prizes in the Leinster awards. He scored 1149 runs at 67.59, which included 9 fifties and one hundred.

The leading all-rounder in the region failed though to impress Heinrich Malan and the selectors, as he missed out on World Cup selection.

Eoghan Delany was second in the aggregates as he made 710 runs at 32.27, with six fifties and a century.

PJ Moor is being touted for Irish honours once his qualifying period ends next month, and you get the feeling he needs the challenge of the big occasion. At club level while a return of 603 runs at 28.71 (4 fifties) is respectable, his talent is capable of much more.

Ruan Cronje also made four half centuries on his way to 535 at 24.32, while John McNally made 470 runs at 27.65.

David Vincent showed his promise with not one, but two senior hundreds as he hit 385 runs at 29.62, before injury curtailed his campaign.

Irish international Fionn Hand scored 318 runs at 19.88 (1 fifty), while others worthy of mentions are Robert Forrest (207), Paul Ryan (205) and Andrew Vincent (186).

In the bowling stakes, Ruan Cronje's spin saw him claim 46 wickets at 19.37, taking one of the three five-wicket hauls.

David Delany also had a five-wicket display on his way to 39 wickets at 16.64, while Mick Granger also took 39 scalps at 17.77.

Fionn Hand captured 32 wickets at 18.38, while others who reached double figures were Paul Ryan (19 at 26.58), David Vincent - the third to take five wickets in an innings (12 at 21.42) and Luke Thomson (13 at 25.77).
