An unbeaten 75 from Orla Prendergast led Ireland Women to a comfortable eight-wicket win against Scotland in the first match of their three-game T20I series at The Grange.

The Pembroke all-rounder hit 11 fours and a six in her highest score for Ed Joyce's side, sharing an unbroken third wicket stand of 99 with skipper Laura Delany (36*), as Ireland chased 133 to win with 22 balls to spare.

The Scots total owed much to Australian-born debutant Saskia Horley (52), who shared a fourth wicket stand of 65 with Lorna Jack (18), while Ailsa Lister had earlier hit a rapid 25.

Arlene Kelly (2-12) was the pick of the Irish attack, while there was a wicket apiece for Laura Delany, Georgina Dempsey, Eimear Richardson and Leah Paul.

The teams meet again on Tuesday at the same venue (1pm).
