The Dragons won their second match of the week, in much similar fashion to the first, falling over the line after a comfortable win looked on the cards.

The Scorchers, without their free-scoring captain Gaby Lewis in the line-up, struggled as Arlene Kelly (2-9) struck two early blows.

Anna Kerrison batted throughout the innings for 32, while Sophie MacMahon made 29 (4 fours), and Christina Coulter-Reilly (20*) in their total of 105 for 5.

Skipper Leah Paul (40) and Amy Hunter (34) broke the back of the chase with an opening stand of 55, before a dawdling Hunter was run out by a direct hit by MacMahon.

The Scorchers kept chipping away, but the Dragons were always sure of the win despite the late wobble, clinching the four-wickets win in the 18th over.
