RAILWAY UNION

  • Captain: Liam McCarthy
  • Player out: Prabanshu Kamal (Adamstown)
  • Player in: Hamza Maan returns having not played for us since 2019
  • Young player to watch: Philippe le Roux

Railway Union will be hoping Liam McCarthy is able to lead them to promotion in 2022. The 20 year-old South African with Irish ancestors impressed for the Park Avenue side last year with 16 wickets at under 10. This form earned him a representative debut for Munster Reds.

Leaving Railway is Prabanshu Kamal, who has joined Adamstown as their player/coach, while Alex Stiles has opted to stay in Australia. On the plus side, Hamza Maan is back having missed the last few seasons.

Ireland Under 19 international Philippe Le Roux is tipped as one to watch by the club and this could well be the year that the teenager's game goes to the next level.

"We have more or less the same squad," said former international Kenny Carroll. "Prabanshu has got an opportunity to help develop as a player/coach and he goes with our blessing.

"Liam impressed last year when he came and hopefully can continue in that vein.

"We have a few players who have joined the club but we aren't sure what level they will be at until we get a few games under out belts.

"As always at this time of the season we are full of optimism for the season ahead and hopefully we can recreate the National Cup winning season."
