Heavy defeat at hands of New Zealand

Our match against the current champions New Zealand wasn't exactly spectacular. The score of 91 really speaks for itself. We were faced with one of the best bowling attacks in the world and couldn't do much with it. Our usual openers Lenny (out with injury) and Ceil (who was about to have her first full match of the tournament) didn't open, instead it was given to myself and Jillian Smythe.

We started off alright and saw off the new ball. Beggsy came in and made a stubborn 31 off 102 balls. Mimms came in and tried to speed the process up but was out for 9. Shillers and Beggsy were running well together, until a misunderstanding left Shillers stranded. The wickets continued to fall and we were left with our total of 91.

New Zealand sent in their opening bowler (Rachel Puller) as a pinch hitter, obviously for some batting experience and we obviously sent her right back out again. Headsy bowled a beautiful ball and Puller in attempting to pull her, missed it completely - bye bye middle stump. New Zealand notched up the runs in the 19th over.
