Kim Garth

Kim Garth followed up her three wickets with her maiden T20 international half century, but it wasn't enough as the West Indies closed out a 45-run win to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Garth (3-22) showed all her guile and nous in an impressive bowling display, and was well backed up by Celeste Raack and Sophie MacMahon, but the young Irish attack were picked off by the experienced West Indies batters. Hayley Matthews (33), Britney Cooper (20) and Sally Ann King (34) were all in the runs as the West Indies finished on 157-6 from their 20 overs.

The Irish run chase started cautiously as they added 24 in the first four overs, before Gaby Lewis fell for 11.

Mary Waldron made 25 from 28 balls, but the Irish struggled as the required rate steadily increased and the scoreboard pressure saw them reeling on 67 for 6.

Garth however ensured respectability even if the target was never threatened at any juncture. Her unbeaten 51 came from 48 deliveries and included 4 fours and a six.

Garth added 45 in 5.1 overs with Sophie MacMahon (11*) as the Girls in Green ended on 112 for 6.
