After a day's rest Israel were next at the well appointed Military College on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur. The day was sunny and the pitch quicker than for the Gibraltar match. The entire match lasted 49.1 overs and 130 minutes of actual playing time. After being 53-2 and 70-3 Israel were all out for 88 in 31.5 overs. The last seven wickets fell to Harrison and Doak in 7.3 overs.

Wides were again the biggest problem. Extras, 26, were easily Israel's top scorer, opening bat Nagaukar's 18 was next. Of these 26 extras, 24 wides. Patterson and Eagleson bowled four overs each. The former conceded nine wides, the latter six. The ball was swinging but if Patterson could eliminate this fault he would be among the top three opening bowlers in the Tournament. Ireland made three changes. Harrison came in for Molins, Heasley for Gillespie and Rutherford to keep wicket in place of Andrew Patterson. Graham and McCallan had yet to play.

Sent in Israel were seven after three overs, all wides! Patterson bowled four wides in the first over but it took the first wicket in his third over, Vard being lbw. 10-1-3. Patterson's next over saw three more wides, one going to the boundary, but the last ball took the second wicket. Hall skied to Heasley at square leg. 21-2-4, of which 13 were wides. In came the left-handed Silver, Israel's best bat, to join Nagaukar. They stayed together for 13 overs and put on 32. Eagleson replaced Patterson were bowled four overs. Eagleson also bowled four and his last included five wides! Heasley replaced McCrum, seven overs for 17 runs, and had Nagaukar dropped at extra cover by Lewis in his first over.

50 was up in over 19. Heasley gained consolation in his third over when Silver was caught by Curry at short extra cover. 53-3-13. Harrison bowled his first four overs for eight runs and was joined by fellow off-spinner Doak at 67 for the 24th over. The innings closed nine overs later. Harrison struck first when he had opening bat Nagaukar caught at mid-on off a skier. 70-4-18. Nagaukar had faced 62 balls. Doak bowled the captain, Awaskar, with the third ball he faced. Seven runs later Talkar was lbw to Harrison. At 77 Doak had Ashton caught at slip by Benson. The last three wickets fell in five balls. Wadaukar lobbed one from Harrison to wicket-keeper Rutherford. Doak removed Smith (another Benson slip catch) and Worrell (bowled) with successive balls.

31.5 overs were bowled in 93 minutes. Harrison had 3-19 in eight overs and well merited his return to the team. Doak's 4-9 in 4.5 overs earned him the Man-of-the-Match Award. After a 10 minute break Curry and Lewis set out to improve Ireland's run rate. In 17.2 overs they scored 89 and Curry got his second successive 50. Israel tried seven bowlers and, in contrast to Ireland, conceded only six wides. Curry got more strike than Lewis, 61 balls to 43, and hit six fours while Lewis had but a single four. 13 overs were bowled before lunch was taken at 1 p.m. By that time Ireland were 62, Curry 41 and Lewis 13. The latter was dropped by the wicket-keeper, Smith, off Ashton in the last pre-lunch over.

5.2 overs were enough to gather the remaining 27 runs. Curry reached 51 out of 83 in 59 balls. Ireland spent the next hour in the splendid Military Swimming Pool. The previous day Kenya, odds-on favourite to win Ireland's section, nearly came unstuck against lowly Singapore. The latter made 89 and Kenya staggered home by two wickets.
