The Netherlands are unbeaten as the final European leg of qualifying for the next Women's T20 World Cup reaches the halfway stage in Spain.

Winning the toss and putting Italy in to bat in yesterday's first match, they restricted them to 74-8 from their 20 overs with only two batters reaching double figures. They then chased down their target in 10.1 overs to win by nine wickets, Sterre Kalis and Babette de Leede scoring unbeaten knocks of 28 and 25 respectively.

In the afternoon game at Desert Springs, France were able to score 106-7 against Scotland with the 16-year-old Ines McKeon - sister of Gus from the men's team - scoring 56. Kathryn Bryce then scored 51 from only 33 balls in the Scotland reply to help them chase down their target in 12.4 overs to win by 7 wickets.

After a rest day today, play will resume tomorrow. Italy play Scotland in the morning whilst France take on the Netherlands in the afternoon.
