A fine all-round display by Jan Dijkstra saw Merrion beat Instonians by four wickets to reach the final of the All-Ireland Under 13 cup.

The Belfast side scored 114 for 9 in their 20 overs, with Jack Robinson top-scoring with 21.

Sam Casey took three wickets for 10 runs, while Dijkstra claimed 2 for 15.

Instonians battled bravely taking the contest to the 18th over while picking up six wickets.

The deciding factor was the presence of Dijkstra, who made an unbeaten 53 (5 fours, 2 sixes) to steer his side home along with double figure contributions from Ben Wilson-Moore (15) and Ollie Molins (12).

Leinster champions Merrion will now host NW representatives Bready with the date and venue still tbc.
