Scotland are almost certain of a place in next year's Men's Under-19 Cricket World Cup after a big win over Norway today in Schiedam.

Put into bat, Norway were bowled out for 116, with Aminullah Tanha's 20 their top score. James Hobman was the pick of the Scottish bowlers with 3-25. Scotland had no trouble chasing down their target, doing so in just under half of their overs without losing a wicket. Jamie Dunk top scored with 52 and Alec Price contributed 42.

Scotland's task was made easier by a defeat for the Netherlands in the Hague. Jersey were put into bat and scored 243-6 from their 50 overs thanks to half-centuries from openers Jack Kemp and Stanley Norman, who scored 50 and 54 respectively. Tom de Leede - the latest member of the de Leede clan to be involved with the Dutch international set-up - was the pick of the bowlers with 3-34.

The home team lost their top four cheaply and needed 71 by Cedric de Lange and 52 by Michael Molenaar to get as close as they did. Charlie Brennan took 4-43 and Toby Britton 3-45 as the Dutch were bowled out for 231, losing by 12 runs.

The only team other than Scotland still in contention is promoted side Guernsey, who bowled out Italy for 140 - Harry Johnson taking 3-27 - and then chased down their target in 47.5 overs to win by six wickets with Charlie Forshaw contributing an unbeaten 55.

Guernsey have a big net run rate gap to overcome should they win on Saturday against rivals Jersey and Scotland lose when they take on Italy. Hosts the Netherlands round out their tournament by playing Norway.
