Brigade's hopes of following up their Senior Cup success with All-Ireland T20 glory were dashed  by Balbriggan who won yesterday’s semi-final at The Rectory.

With Beechgrove unplayable, the game was moved down the road to Glendermott where a 14-over game was played but despite Scott Macbeth top scoring with 46 and taking two late wickets in his only over, the north Dublin side reached  their target of 133 with five wickets down and four balls to spare.

The other semi-final, scheduled for Belmont, between CIYMS and Cork County, never got started and the NCU holders now must make the long journey for the replay. They reserve date is Wednesday but CI have asked Cricket Ireland to play the game next Sunday. A decision is expected today.*

Ireland international Curtis Campher is playing in the One-Day for Somerset and he helped his side to victory over Worcestershire yesterday, taking three of the last five wickets as the visitors, chasing 288, collapsed from 232 for five to 251 all out.

*It has now been confirmed that the replays will indeed be on Sunday.
