A final between the two qualified sides can have the risk of being anti-climatic, especially given the dramatic nature of the Netherlands' qualification campaign, and it certainly was that for the Dutch today as Sri Lanka completed a comprehensive 128 run win today in Harare.

The Dutch won the toss at the Harare Sports Club and - as with all but one match in the tournament - chose to bowl first. And they managed to bowl the Sri Lankans out for what should have been a chaseable 233. Sahan Arachchige top scored for the Sri Lankans with 57, whilst four Dutch bowlers each took two wickets.

Despite some backing from the Zimbabwean crowd, who had adopted the Dutch as their own in the absence of the hosts, the Dutch folded in reply. After an opening partnership of 25, they collapsed to 49-6 by the end of the twelfth over and never recovered.

A knock of 33 from Max O'Dowd alongside an unbeaten 20 by Logan van Beek gave a little bit more respectability to the Dutch total, but they fell way short on 105. Maheesh Theekshana took 4-31 and Dilshan Madushanka took 3-18 for the Sri Lankans.

Sri Lanka now have a change of formats as they host Pakistan for a two Test series starting in a week's time. For the Netherlands, they have no fixtures scheduled until the World Cup. Such is the life of an associate.
