Oman's campaign in the men's  World Cup Qualifier has come to an end with an eight wicket loss against the West Indies today at the Harare Sports Club.

It was announced before the match that Jason Holder and Alzarri Joseph - opening bowlers against Scotland - were going to miss the rest of the tournament as they were returning home to prepare for the upcoming visit of India, but West Indies captain Shai Hope still didn't hesitate to bowl first after he won the toss.

Oman found runs hard to come by for much of their innings, and lost wickets regularly. At 116-6 though, the pairing of Shoaib Khan and Suraj Kumar put on 93 to frustrate the West Indies a little. Khan was run out for 50, whilst Kumar finished the innings unbeaten on 53. Romario Shepherd was the pick of the West Indian bowlers, taking 3-44 as Oman were bowled out for 221-9.

Opening with the regal sounding pairing of King & Charles, the latter was dismissed early, before King and Keacy Carty put on 80 for the second wicket. After Carty was out for 29, King and Shai Hope contributed a partnership of 96 which ended when King was caught behind for exactly 100.

Hope batted on and had reached 63 when the winning runs were scored with 10.2 overs to spare, West Indies winning by 8 wickets.

Oman's tournament may be over, but the West Indies have one more Super Six match to come - against Sri Lanka on Friday.
