A first ever ODI between Oman and Sri Lanka (the teams had preivously met in two practice matches ahead of the 2021 T20 World Cup) ended with a dominant victory for the full member nation in quick time today in Bulawayo.

There wasn't much of note to Oman's innings, with only eight boundaries in their total of 98 with only three batters reaching double figures. Ayaan Khan threw his bat around a bit - literally - and scored 41, but Jatinder Singh's 21 and Fayyaz Butt's 13 were the only other double digit scores.

Ayaan Khan lets go of his bat during Oman's qualifier game against Sri Lanka.

Wanindu Hasaranga was the pick of the Sri Lankan bowlers, taking 5-13 with his leg-spin, whilst Lahiru Kumara took 3-22.

The target was reached without incident in 15 overs, Dimuth Karunaratne top scoring with 61 in the 10 wicket win.

Both sides will be back in action on Sunday when Sri Lanka take on Ireland and Oman play Scotland.
