The European international summer is well and truly underway with matches played in three countries this past weekend.

Gibraltar hosted its first ever T20Is with a tri-series against Malta and Portugal that began on Thursday and ended on Sunday after nine games, all played at the Europa Sports Park on the southern tip of the British Overseas Territory.

Portugal were the winners, going unbeaten throughout the tournament, only really challenged in their last match on Sunday when they squeezed past the home side by one wicket after their last pair put on 34. The hosts won two of their three matches against Malta and also lost narrowly on the final day, by just one run to the Maltese.

In women's T20I action, France travelled to Austria for a five match series. The French side were dominant throughout, winning all five matches quite easily, with Poppy McGeown's unbeaten 61 in the second game their highlight. It is perhaps indicitive of France's dominance that only one Austrian batter scored more runs in five matches combined than MGeown managed in just one match.

Finally, the seemingly unending travelling roadshow of European Cricket Network T10 held one of its increasingly more common T10 international events in Milan this weekend, with the Italians hosting Romania and France for a triple round robin tournament.

The home team won the tournament, winning five of their six games. Their only slip up came against Romania who beat them by 5 wickets in the fifth and final game on Saturday. France won two of their three games against Romania but it was the Romanians who edged them out on net run rate to finish in second place.

ECN will host another T10 international event in Austria in a fortnight's time, with Czech Republic and Hungary joining the hosts. The other international event this month will be the men's Nordic Cup in Denmark, with Finaland, Norway and Sweden joining the hosts for the T20I tournament.
