Like their women's team in Kenya, the Ugandan men's team also tasted victory in T20I action this past week after a mammorth 18 match tri-series that also involved Tanzania and hosts Rwanda.

The series kicked off on December 13th with Tanzania beating the hosts by 66 runs after knocks of 68 and 61 by Abhik Patwa and Amal Rajeevan respectively. The sides met again the same day with Tanzania this time winning after batting second, chasing down their target of 111 with 5.5 overs to spare to win by five wickets.

Uganda played their first match the next day, beating Rwanda by 85 runs after Ronald Lutaaya scored 70 from 40 balls. Rwanda's reply had a rather top heavy nature with opener Orchide Tuyisenge scoring 66 of their 100 runs and nobody else contributing more than 6. Their second match that afternoon was abandoned with Tanzania on 48-9.

On 15th December, Uganda scored 168-9 against Rwanda, who were bowled out for 35 in reply. They made it two wins from two that afternoon, scoring 169-8 thanks to Roger Musaka's 89. They kept Tanzania to 156-9 in their reply, winning by 13 runs.

The next day, Uganda scored 153-7 from their 20 overs against Rwanda, Simon Ssezai top scoring with 55. Rwanda were bowled out for 56 in their reply. That afternoon Rwanda scored 128-7 in a rain interupted innings against Tanzania. The visitor's target was adjusted to 133 but they fell just short on 131-8, Rwanda winning by 1 run in what proved to be their only win of the series.

After a rest day on Saturday the series resumed on Sunday with Uganda recoridng a narrow two run win over Tanzania in a game reduced to 15 overs. Tanzania bounced back in the afternoon game against Rwanda, chasing down their target of 119 with 5.1 overs to spare to win by six wickets.

On Monday, Uganda had their only defeat of the series, being bowled out for 132 by Tanzania, who scored their required runs with five balls to spare to win by five wickets. In the afternoon Uganda bowled the hosts out for 57 and chased their target in 5.5 overs to win by nine wickets.

On Tuesday morning, Tanzania scored 134-9 against Rwanda, who were bowled out for 103 in reply. The home team were bowled out for 67 when they took on Uganda that afternoon, with the Ugandans winning by 7 wickets after chasing their target in 8.5 overs.

Wednesday was a rest day with play resuming on Thursday. Tanzania scored 136-9 in the morning match against Rwanda, who managed 108-9 in reply. In the afternoon, Simon Ssezai made the top score of the tri-series, scoring 100 from 58 balls in Uganda's total of 183-5. Tanzania got close in reply, making 176 before the last wicket fell two balls before the end of their innings.

On the final day yesterday, Uganda scored were bowled out for 108 by Rwanda, who came close to a surprise win, getting within three runs of the Ugandan total before they lost their last wicket two balls from the end of the game. The final match of the tri-series was washed out.
