The Netherlands have gone 2-0 down in the ODI leg of their tour of Thailand after two batting collapses cost them dearly.

Thailand were bowled out for 176 after choosing to bat first. Natthakan Chantam followed her century in the first ODI by top scoring again with 42. Eva Lynch was the pick of the Dutch bowlers with 4-33.

The visitors' reply started brightly with openers Babette de Leede and Sterre Kalis putting on 80 before de Leede was dismissed for 37. Kalis went on to score 54 before she was run out but those wickets bookended the first collapse as the Netherlands lost five wickets for 34 runs in 11.1 overs.

Iris Zwilling and Frederique Overdijk then put on 40 for the sixth wicket to take the total to 154. But with the Netherlands needing just 23 in seven overs, they collapsed again, losing their last five wickets for just 14 runs.

The final Dutch total was 168, an eight run win for the home team.Suleeporn Laomi was the leading bowler with 3-43.

The sides meet again on Thursday for the third ODI of the four match series.
