Max Burton is joining the North West Warriors for the 2023 season.

The 21 year-old has of course previously been named in a Warriors squad, when back in 2019 he was due to represent them in a T20 interpro festival in Dublin, but injury meant that never happened.

The Cliftonville Academy keeper-batsman featured as cover for the injured Neil Rock earlier this year for the Northern Knights.

He also impressed for the Ireland Academy during their T10 European tournament in Spain.

His Ireland Academy team mate Cam Melly will also be hoping to feature for the Warriors inbetween his Cardiff University commitments.

With interprovinicials likely to be taking place at the same time as senior internationals in 2023, this will give an opportunity to fringe players to really state their case in the absence of established players.

Seamus Lynch was a revelation in Spain, and expect the Terenure player to make his mark, especially in the shorter formats.

Other players who may be relatively unfamilar to Irish supporters are Ryan Karunakaran, and Finn Catherwood who both took part in the Emerging Interpros this year.

One name though who is opting to try his hand in the county scene in England rather than Ireland is Jordan Collier, who curently plays in Cheshire.

Cricket Ireland are expected to announce their winter training squads shortly.
