With USA currently in third place with a narrow lead over the chasing pair of Namibia and UAE, and playing their last four CWC League 2 games in this tri-series, every match is crucial for the Americans given that only three teams are certain of a place in next year's World Cup Qualifier.

And they got their final run off to a great start with a big win over hosts Namibia today at Wanderers Cricket Ground in Windhoek.

Put into bat, openers Steven Taylor and Sushant Modani scored 23 ands 15 respectively before Monank Patel (33) and Aaron Jones (35) built on that start.

Gajanand Singh top-scored with 66 from 65 balls to help take the visitors to a total of 244-8 from their 50 overs.

A few Namibian batters got starts but none were able to go on and make a significant contribution. Gerhard Erasmus' knock of 27 was the top score as Namibia were bowled out for 173, losing by 72 runs. Six USA bowlers took wickets, with Saurabh Netravalkar, Steven Taylor and Nosthush Kenjige all taking two wickets.

USA will next be in action on Tuesday when they take on bottom of the table Papua New Guinea, whilst Namibia will next play on Wednesday, also against PNG.
