Jersey are back on top of CWC Challenge League B after a win over Hong Kong today at Farmers Cricket Club.

Hong Kong batted first and their innings was built around a pair of unbeaten centuries from Nizakat Khan (127) and Yasim Murtaza (107). The pair put on 190 for the fifth wicket as their team scored 284-4 from their 50 overs.

Nicholas Greenwood top scored in the reply of the home side with 94 whilst Asa Tribe continued his rich vein of form by scoring an unbeaten 80 from 76 balls to help secure a seven wicket win with 11 balls to spare.

Kenya batted first in their match against old rivals Uganda. Irfan Karim (63) and Collins Obuya (40) contributed the bulk of their runs as they scored 172-9 from their 50 overs. Riazat Shah was the pick of Uganda’s bowlers with 4-38, whilst Juma Miyaji took 3-36.

A superb bowling display from Emmanuel Bundi, who took six wickets for 36 runs helped bowl Uganda out for 136, the 36 run defeat dealing a hefty blow to their hopes of challenging for top position.

Tomorrow, Hong Kong will look to regain top place when they play Italy, whilst Kenya take on Bermuda.
