With Jersey not playing today in this final CWC Challenge League B tournament that they are hosting, Uganda and Hong Kong took the opportunity to go ahead of them on the table, recording wins over Italy and Bermuda respectively.

Italy won the toss and chose to bat first against the Ugandans but were bowled out for just 119, Dinesh Nakrani taking 3-20 and 25-year international veteran Frank Nsubuga taking three wickets for only eight runs. Harry Manenti top scored for the Italians with 36.

Ronak Patel led the scoring in Uganda’s run chase, scoring an unbeaten 67 form 62 balls as they chased down their target in 19.5 overs, winning by seven wickets and moving to the top of the table, though Jersey have a game in hand.

Hong Kong also won the toss and chose to bat first in their game against Bermuda at Farmers but put on a much better display than Italy did over at Grainville. Kinchit Shah top scored for them with 139 as they made 311-7 from their 50 overs.

Terryn Fray (45) and Dominic Sabir (44) were the only scores of note in Bermuda’s reply as they were bowled out for 192, losing by 119 runs. Mohammad Ghazanfar was the pick of the Hong Kong bowlers with 4-30.

Jersey will be back in action tomorrow and will look to go back on top of the table when they take on Bermuda. Italy will be looking to bounce back from today’s defeat when they play Kenya.
