The Hilton Series schedule has thrown up a first for the Dutch Lions with confirmation they will open the six-game, four-format tour, with a 100-ball match vs NUSC in Billingham on Monday.

The Dutch Lions face a daunting schedule of six games over their five-day, four-night trip to the North East of England, starting with a 100-ball match, on Monday four hours after landing, and ending with a T20 on Friday starting six hours before flying home.

Each match winner will receive points, weighted to starting overs, to decide the overall multi-format champions on Friday lunchtime.

The Dutch Lions will also dedicate their Wednesday evening to supporting 150 years of cricket in Tynemouth celebrations and acknowledging the work of Key Workers, playing a T20 vs UK Fire Services Cricketers, in association with Arnold Clark Community Fund.

For hosts NUSC, a boost today when five of its young players were named in the North East Premier League Select X1 to take on the MCC on Wednesday 21st, captained, by a 6th alumni member Dale Shaw.

John D Holland, Hilton Series Director added it was a ‘fantastic honour and opportunity for the players involved. Dale will expect high standards and that will help them prepare for a very challenging Hilton Series next week”.

Subir Shrestha, Performance and Operations Manager of KNCB, added, “Hilton Series is going to be unique, challenging, eye-opening, and an unforgettable experience for the Lions players. KNCB could not ask for anything more, and we look forward to landing on Monday”.

The Dutch Lions are in action this week with a Quadrangle Series featuring Germany, Sweden, and Denmark, in what is a busy two weeks for the Lions squad.
