Nepal’s unbeaten record in the ACC Women’s T20 Championship in Malaysia came to an end today at the hands of Hong Kong.

Choosing to bat first, Nepal made 109-6 from their 20 overs with captain Rubina Chhetry top scoring with an unbeaten 32. Bindu Rawal and and Aspiri Begam also contributed with 23 and 22 respectively. The target was little trouble for Hong Kong, who knocked off the required runs in 15.5 overs to win by seven wickets. Mariko Hill top scored with 45.

The other Group B match today was between Bhutan and Kuwait at the Kinrara Oval with Bhutan batting first after being put in. They were bowled out for 112 and Kuwait chased down their target with an over to spare, winning by three wickets. Maryam Omar top scored for Kuwait with 46.

The only group A match saw Singapore get put in to bat by Qatar, who promptly bowled them out for just 46 with no batter able to reach double figures. Angeline Mare was the pick of the bowlers with 3-12. Qatar chased down their target in 10.3 overs, losing five wickets in the process.

The round robin stage of the tournament concludes tomorrow with four matches. In Group A, hosts Malaysia play Oman and Qatar will take on the UAE. In Group B Hong Kong will come up against Kuwait and Bahrain play Bhutan.
