Jareth McCready has been chosen to replace Alan Neill on the Ireland international umpiring panel.

Jareth has a wealth of experience, and has already tasted international officiating as third umpire in two men's matches against Scotland in 2013, Sri Lanka A in 2014, plus umpiring in nine women's internationals to date.

The 50 year-old enjoyed a successful playing career, winning the Schools Cup with RBAI, and the Irish Senior Cup with Downpatrick, as well as featuring with Instonians and Armagh.

A cruciate knee injury saw him end his career prematurely, but encouraged by his mentor Johnny Briggs, he joined the NIACUS umpiring ranks, going from strength to strength.

The Downpatrick native joins Roly Black, Paul Reynolds and Mark Hawthorne on the panel, after Alan Neill retired at the end of last season.

It promises to be a busy home summer, with Bangladesh, New Zealand and Afghanistan all destined to tour, although there are rumours that Bangladesh's visit may be postponed, but on the flip side India could be coming for a T20I series.
